Superb Chinese seafood. This place is very well regarded and recognized in Scarborough and Markham for having high standards. It is a popular family eat out spot. And for good reason, the food quality is good and the portions are respectful. There are many original recipes. The lobster fry with minced pork is an example. The softshell crab fried rice is another. Portions are generous. A fried rice dish is big enough for 4 diners. The food is always piping hot. A pile of their friedrice will stay hot for a while. Service here is superb. They go above and beyond the normal. They promptly receive you as you enter, regularly check up on you, and even put leftovers into takeout boxes by themselves which is something restaurants used to do but most no longer do this. Staff is always jovial and has a good sense of humour The interior is colourful, tidy, and pleasant. The table cloth is always immaculate and utensils and plates are spotless. The tables are the round style with turntables and comfortable All in all this is one of the too tier Chinese restaurants in the GTA.
This place is hard to describe because it might sound like a paid ad. The atmosphere of this restaurant is like a cozy 90s Chinese restaurant that all locals would go to for their family events. The food is classic, with a heaping amount of ingredients (Seafood Fried Rice had more shrimps, pieces of scallops, and squid than 99% of Chinese restaurants in Scarborough), and the service is perfection. The main serving gentleman serves and greets everyone and radiates family restaurant hospitality energy that you see in the 90s movies. This is the first restaurant that I am returning to due to the service being so stellar.
You can’t come here without ordering the King Whole Shrimp with Garlic Fried Rice. Literally everyone around us ordered the dish and once I took a bite I understood why this dish is so popular. There was a healthy portion of minced garlic in each bite and the shrimp was really flavorful. One of our favorite dishes is Sweet and Sour Pork and we like to gauge how it stacks compared to other places. I have to say that this place does it right. The pork was cooked where it was crispy well after it was served and the meat was nice and juicy. We also wanted to try something different so we ordered the Fried Oyster with Honey Pepper and I have to say we were all really surprised at how well balanced all the flavors were. We really enjoyed our experience. This place is pretty far from us or we would most likely add it to our rotation.
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant, the servers are amazing & super friendly, all original over 15 years. The food is great every time. Lots of choices, I love the crab as you can see with the minced pork on tip delicious with plan white rice. Lot of tables. Don't miss out of this place!
Cornerstone of Scarborough's authentic Cantonese Chinese food scene is The Royal Chinese. It's on a small strip mall on the southwest corner of Birchmount and Sheppard. Open only for dinner and unique in that the wait staff are also the owners of the restaurant. Be prepared to wait as it's always popular especially on long weekends and Chinese New Year celebrations. It's a large dining space adorned with bright neon paper displaying specials in Chinese like steamed rice with crab or lobster, not found on the English menu. Quality is consistent and service while rushed is old school and efficient. Includes free soup and dessert at the end. Credit cards accepted.
Busy place, fresh and tasty food, quick service. Not for people who like a quiet place. Value for money family restaurant.

One of the small Chinese restaurants that serves the most delicious food in this area that Chinese restaurants are crowded (they like to compete amongst themselves, I guess...) Seafood dishes are extremely tasty, finger-licking for sure. Look for labels on the wall with all dishes’ names and prices, if you can translate into your languages. No wrong choices whatever you order.
